PVDF Sheet Manufacturer and Supplier

MCP Engineering Plastics Limited are PVDF Sheet suppliers and PVDF Sheet manufacturers.

PVDF or Polyvinylidene Fluoride is a semi-crystalline structured, highly inert, tough and stable thermoplastic fluoropolymer. PVDF Sheet has a melting point of 175°C and service temperatures of up to 150°C. Its properties consist of excellent chemical resistance, high crystallinity with good thermal stability, without sacrificing on other mechanical properties, like most other materials in the same family. PVDF Sheet compliments PEEK and Polyamide as one of the best radiation resistance plastics available.

Sold under various brand names, but most commonly recognised as Kynar™. It can be manufactured with supplemented additives and melt flow rates, to increase the processing capabilities and heighten properties for specific applications. PVDF Sheet is a versatile material that can be used in chemical applications, FDA applications and some demanding applications.

Typical applications of components machined from PVDF Sheet include; medical packings, anti-corrosion linings and corrosion resistant machined components.

Key Features of PVDF Sheet include:

  • High permanent operating temperature (140°C)
  • Near zero moisture absorption
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Good resistance to hydrolysis
  • UV resistant
  • Radiation resistant
  • Good electrical insulator
  • Good mechanical strength compared to other fluoropolymers
  • Good dimensional stability
  • Suitable for a wide range of applications
  • Available with modifications to make electrically conductive
  • Available with carbon fibre reinforcement
  • FDA approved.
