Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a semi-crystalline, high-performance engineering thermoplastic. This rigid opaque (grey) material offers a unique combination of mechanical properties, resistance to chemicals, wear, fatigue and creep, as well as exceptionally high temperature resistance, up to 260°C (480°F).
This polymer belongs to polyketone family of polymers (PEK, PEEK, PEEKK, PEKK, PEKEKK) and amongst them, PEEK is the most widely used and manufactured in large scale.
We extrude and stock a large range of natural PEEK rod, from 5mm to 120mm and some sizes of extruded PEEK. Our PEEK rod is available in 3 meters lengths, but we can also reduce these to 1 or 2 meter length cuts.
There are excellent mechanical performance properties of PEEK, for example, parts can be designed with reduced weight, greater durability and strength, which makes PEEK an alternative solution to metals in extreme conditions.
The thermal performance of PEEK red as well as the wear and chemical resistances ensures longer life and integrity of components in harsh environments.
PEEK rod has good resistance to beta and X rays, as well as gamma rays (more than 1000 mrad without significant loss of mechanical properties). These properties make PEEK rod suitable for sterilization and, due to its features of biocompatibility (USP Class VI), a strong candidate for medical applications.
PEEK rod is ideal for use in many high-end applications in industries such as Chemical, Electrical and Electronic, Petrochemical, Automotive, Mechanical, Medical, Aerospace, Semiconductors and Food.
It is also highly resistant to thermal degradation as well as attack by both organic and aqueous environments.
