MCP Engineering Plastics Limited are Expanded PTFE Seal suppliers and Expanded PTFE Seal manufacturers.
Expanded PTFE Seals (ePTFE) are microporous and perfect for any applications that requires an air-permeable material. ePTFE is different to conventional PTFE. The tactile qualities of the material are soft, flexible and smooth and spongey to the touch. Expanded PTFE is often also used in the form of cord, sealing tape or tubing.
The key benefits of expanded PTFE Seals
Expanded PTFE Seals share similar properties to PTFE equivalents. The material is completely non-toxic and hygienic and also offers working temperatures up to 260°C. In addition, ePTFE enjoys the following benefits:
- Chemically resistant with high linear strength
- Chemically inert
- Watertight at low pressure
- Low dielectric constant
- Excellent radial expansion and UV resistance
- Different levels of porosity available – Low, medium and high density
Expanded PTFE Seals are ideal for use in medical devices, electronic insulators and high-performance filters. In chemical, oil and gas applications, Expanded PTFE Seals can be applied to even out bumps and ridges and achieve a true seal.
MCP Engineering Plastics Limited, based on the Hertfordshire and Essex County border, are an established and experienced Expanded PTFE Seal supplier and manufacturer to a range of industries throughout the UK, including the oil & gas sector, chemical industries, and other markets where fluid handling of high temperature, caustic and acidic fluids is required, or where contamination is an issue. We have a wide range of filled materials, in all sizes, ready for despatch, ex-stock.
